DOCTORATE
At ASEM, PhD studies are funded from the budget (based on the grant obtained) and on a tuition fee basis;
DURATION: full-time (3 years) and part-time (4 years) forms of education are available.
Holders of master's or higher education degrees (issued under pre-Bologna programs) with a grade point average of at least 8.0 are eligible to participate in the admission competition. Candidates are entitled to enroll in only one doctoral program.

Goals:
- To get the general and professional research skills that match the CNC/ISCED level 8 qualification.
- To give out a PhD certificate after successfully finishing the PhD program.
- Awarding the title of Doctor of Science and offering a Doctor of Science Diploma after successfully defending the doctoral thesis.
Occupational opportunities:
The benefit of doctoral programs is that they open doors to new careers—executive director, analyst/expert/consultant in national and international organizations, project coordinator, researcher in research organizations, professor-researcher in academic institutions, etc.
APPLICATION PROCESS
To apply for a doctoral program, candidates must submit the following application file:
- Application form.
- Academic records (bachelor's and master's degrees), originals and copies, with the corresponding supplements.
- Scientific paper on the selected specialty (7-10 pages), or copies of scientific papers published in the last 5 years (at least 2).
- Recommendations from two specialists with scientific titles in the field or an extract from the minutes of the Master's School Council meeting.
- Europass curriculum vitae.
- Copy of identity card (for foreign citizens, a copy of their passport).
- 3 photos 3×4.
- Questionnaire for candidates for doctoral studies
- Affidavit stating that the applicant has not previously benefited from a state-funded place
- Consent form for the processing of personal data.
Documents 1, 8, 9, and 10 are to be completed at the Doctoral School.
After the registration period has ended, the scientific specialty and form of education cannot be changed!
The recognition of academic documents issued in countries other than the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and EU member states is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
The conditions for admission and PhD studies for foreign citizens and stateless persons are the same as for citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
Admission tests: Admission to PhD studies is based on two tests:
- English language proficiency.
- Scientific paper on the topic of the selected PhD program.
